Advent Calendar Gifts

Coverage of every door worth opening

Masthead

We cover calendar season like a beat

Advent calendars turned into a retail season of their own — launches in August, sellouts in October, panic in November. Someone should explain it properly before you spend.

Our mission

Advent Calendar Gifts is a single-subject site about one December ritual: the advent calendar. It exists because calendar season now behaves like a retail season of its own — launches in late summer, sellouts in autumn, a fortnight of panic in November — and almost nobody explains the format before selling it to you.

Every guide here is a buying guide. We explain what a category actually contains, how many doors is normal, what makes a price-per-door claim honest or hollow, and which type of calendar suits which recipient. We do not open, taste, score or rank calendars we have not been sent, because none are sent to us.

The site is funded by Amazon affiliate links. They never decide what appears in a guide, and they never change what you pay.

How we work

  • Buying guides, not reviews. We explain what a category contains, how many doors is normal for it and who it suits. We have not opened these calendars, and we never claim to have.
  • Door math, not marketing math. When a box advertises a value, we explain how that number is built and what to check before believing it — we do not publish our own valuation of contents we have not seen.
  • No invented numbers. No prices, ratings or review counts we cannot source. Where a price appears it comes from live retailer data; otherwise we send you to check it at the shop.
  • Re-read every season. Contents change every year, so guides are re-read before the season starts and anything stale is updated or pulled.
  • Affiliate transparency. We earn a commission when you buy through our Amazon links. It never changes what a guide recommends — the full disclosure spells out exactly how it works.

The human behind it

Advent Calendar Gifts is written and edited by Nora Whitfield, a former retail buyer who spent six years planning seasonal assortments from the other side of the shelf. Tips, corrections and "which one for my mother-in-law" questions all go through the contact page.
